The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) formally known as the Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (IOTA), is the leading and premier Chartered professional transport body in Nigeria providing training, membership and certification of transport professionals. First established in Great Britain, United Kingdom in 1944 as a professional body dedicated to promoting education to serve the emerging requirements of transport administration.
It was incorporated in Nigeria in September, 1986 under the Land Perpetual Succession Act Cap 98 with the sole aim of promoting education and the standards of knowledge in controlling and regulating the practices of efficient transport management and administration.

Dear Distinguished CIOTANs,
It is always a great delight to write to you, I hope you are keeping well amidst the ‘National Cash Crunch’. This was the name that popped up in my head as I reminisced on the happenings in our nation.
Please, keep hope alive, hopefully, these birth pangs will herald a nation we will be proud of. I consider myself privileged to lead the Institute at a time like this. It is my belief that CIOTA will be a worthy instrument in this national rebirth. Let’s be reflective as we go about our national and personal duties. Let’s ensure that our individual and collective efforts represent the country we desire.
